Baseten for Model Labs connects two products for serving and distributing models. Use Frontier Gateway to control access to models across Baseten-hosted, third-party, and custom targets. Use the Distribution Platform to publish custom-trained models for Baseten customers to deploy. Baseten operates Frontier Gateway and the Distribution Platform, but the models behind Gateway targets can run on Baseten or elsewhere.

Choose a delivery path

Choose based on how you want callers to access the model and who owns the customer relationship.

Frontier Gateway

Apply one access and policy layer across supported model targets. When you serve customers, you own the customer relationship, contract, and billing.

Distribution Platform

Sell your model through Baseten. Baseten manages the customer contract and billing.
You can use both products for different customers. For example, you can run your public API through Frontier Gateway and offer dedicated deployments to Baseten customers through the Distribution Platform.
